About Me:
I am a Registered Social Worker in Ontario who holds both a Masters of Social Work from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) as well as a Masters in Clinical Psychology from California State University Northridge (CSUN). Throughout my career working with a wide variety of populations (e.g., medical patients, veterans, and individuals struggling with various daily stressors), there is not one person I met who was not worthy of living a life of meaning, purpose, and stability.
Overall, I believe that while pain is often inevitable in life, suffering can be addressed and managed. My goal is to help individuals work on ways to not turn their pain into suffering.
Therapy can be a step toward greater empowerment, awareness, and insight in order to make long-lasting healthy changes. My approach is empathic and strengths-based, and I focus on helping each client identify goals based on their own personal values. Together, we work on adopting new coping skills, improving resilience, and learning ways to live a more meaningful life rather than simple survival.
Modalities I Draw From:
Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness, some elements from Inner Child Work.
Fun Fact: I am bilingual in both English and Spanish (from Argentina!)/Soy bilingüe y hablo Inglés y Español (de Argentina!).
